At 290 feet tall, America’s largest known natural bridge was scarcely discovered by Anglo explorers when it received national monument status in 1910. Before the dedication of Glen Canyon Dam in 1966, and the subsequent creation of Lake Powell, a 14-mile hike was the only way to see Rainbow Bridge. Today, a roughly two-hour motor-boat trip from Wahweap or Bullfrog marina brings this spectacular site within view.
