Located just off of Interstate 80 in Elko, Nevada, The California Trail Interpretive Center showcases the history of nearly 250,000 people who blazed the westward trail between 1841 and 1869. As pioneers left their homes in the east, they trekked up to 2,000 miles across the plains and deserts in search of a better life. Super-highways, built over the ruts of that dusty trail, now carry travelers to California in mere hours.
